EDEN AVENUE
Logline
A naive artist, weighed down by perfectionism, trades his innocence for a life of independence after falling for his muse.
a short film written and directed by Jenine Dalusong
Mission Statement
Set against the backdrop of an elite preparatory academy, Eden Avenue follows an aspiring artist as he applies to prestigious art schools. When paired up with an outspoken girl in his class, who gets into an argument with the teacher on the first day of class, he slowly discovers a new perspective that pushes him towards his goals yet further away from his values.
The film lingers on themes of identity and expression, highlighting the meaning of art in the 21st century. Art is an expression of the human condition and a testament to the soul. We create art out of grief and healing, passion and love. As human beings, we are able to be imperfect and grow, take risks and form experiences that make art meaningful.

Meet the Crew
-
Jenine Dalusong
Writer and Director
“I fell in love with movies when I saw myself represented on screen for the first time.” Jenine Dalusong is a Portland-based artist and filmmaker who began by writing short stories and poetry at eight years old. As an emerging director and writer, she uses storytelling to navigate social issues to inspire public dialogue.
-
Kevin Williams
Cinematographer
Kevin’s style in the moving image is based around reality and purpose. “If what's happening on screen is pulling you away from the story because of a fancy camera trick, then I did my job wrong.” His style of lighting follows the same suit. Based around realism, the quality of light choice reflects the environment to not draw attention away from the story.
-
Cindy Hoang Le
Assistant Director
Cindy has been passionate about film since she was a little girl. Her dad and her have a tradition of watching movies every Sunday since she was 5 years old, and one day, she would love to make a film both her dad and herself can enjoy. She wants to make him proud of the films she can make.
-
Audrey Weller
Editor & Producer
Audrey fell in love with storytelling in elementary school, where she would play Barbies with her sisters and carefully craft the storylines to match her vision (down to the dialogue). After honing the art of silly i-movie productions, Audrey found her love for writing and editing. She is passionate about telling representation-focused stories that don’t shy away from joy. In her free time, she loves crafting, party-planning, and designing costumes for Halloween.
